Frances Starks

Frances Starks  earned a Bachelors Degree in Biology and a Masters Degree in Education in addition to her Type 75 Administrative certification. She taught Science to High School and Middle School students and all subjects to 4th through 8th graders. In addition she taught College Level Courses as an Adjunct Professor. She served as an Assistant Principal for one year before being named Principal of a K-6th grade School. From there she served as Principal at a 3-5th grade school before becoming Principal at O. W. Huth Middle School in Matteson, IL. During her years as an educator, she earned the Governor’s Master Teacher Award, Outstanding Teacher in District Award and an Outstanding Principal Award from Illinois Principals Association.

Upon retiring, Frances joined the Association of Illinois Middle Schools as a Turning Points in School Coach, for schools struggling to make AYP. She worked for the State of Illinois as a School reform Coach and supervised student teachers from National- Louis University.

Frances joined SLI in Dec. 2004 as a Professional Development Facilitator. Her works include workshop development and delivery of presentations, coaching, modeling and designing of lessons for teachers, providing data analysis and support for leadership teams and training leadership teams.

In addition, Frances mentors area Principals and has recently done work with Best Practices for the Grand Rapids School District in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
